Work Club

The aim of Work Club is to ensure that any person with mental health needs, learning disability, autism, aspergers or any person recovering from drug and alcohol abuse have the ability to get into paid employment.

The Work Club assesses each of their members and helps identify their skills, what they would like to do, and gives them the job searching skills they need to source employment.

We currently have two Work Club locations, one in Worle and one at the Carlton Centre in Weston-super-Mare which are run every week to enable members to share their job-hunting and career experiences, and to encourage each other in their job search.

Previous courses run at our weekly Work Club include Personal Presentation, in partnership with Community Learning. As part of the course members at the Work Club wrote and presented a basic power point presentation which they delivered to the rest of the club. This was a big accomplishment for people who have low confidence.

As part of Work Club, NSCP also delivered a session on interviews, where the HR department talked about interviews, and then delivered mock interviews to all members. The session was successful in obtaining practice and feedback on interview techniques.
